What to Expect

The Application Process

Four steps from interest to decision. Most applicants complete the form in one sitting after gathering their materials.

1
Step 1

Prepare

Review the awards, gather your materials, and identify two recommenders who know your work and can speak to your qualifications.

2
Step 2

Apply

Complete the application form online. Plan for 30–60 minutes — you'll write briefly about each of the 12 TEI Principles in the application.

3
Step 3

Recommendation

You will need to submit two names and emails of recommenders directly through the application to the foundation. Recommendations can be either a letter or in email format.

4
Step 4

Review

The grant and scholarship committee reviews complete applications and responds by email with a decision.

Important

Two letters of recommendation must be received before the committee will review your application. Plan to request these well in advance.
